Curated Moments Karen Sawyer

There are certain elements that are embedded in the most memorable and joyous moments of our lives. These elements captivate us so much that we choose to make room for them in our brain space and attach ourselves to the feelings those moments evoke. Those moments often become our happy place and remind us of what makes us smile as we seek to re-live feelings that resemble such joy. Well, when it comes to creating moments like this, Open Works member and certified event planner, Karen Sawyer, is a master of the elements and a curator of the moments that take our breath away.

With 15 years of experience in the event planning industry, there is no wonder why her clients walk away happy, recommending her and wanting more.

Her business, Karen Sawyer Events, has four departments that cater to the needs of her clients: Changing Faces 4 Fun, The Balloon Boutique, Picture This and Skeeta The Clown.  That’s right! From body painting to balloon decor and from photo booths to live entertainment, Karen Sawyer Events is a one stop shop.

Although they specialize in children’s events and balloon decor, Karen Sawyer Events has the ability to accommodate all  types of events. Her company has covered entertainment for events like former vice president Joe Biden‘s Summer Press Party and  Jon and Kate Plus Eight. She’s even been an alternate on  the reality TV show Skin Wars, where she was able to display her body painting skills.
After 15 years of business, her company now services over 250 events a year, and her team has grown tremendously in size.

“I have access to all types of talent that I book out… If they are really exceptional at what they do; I invite them into my team. ”

In an effort to make the children she fostered birthdays moments they’d remember, she’d throw them parties and entertain the guest. People would attend and love it so much they started to request her for their own parties.

“Before I knew it, people were asking for my services, and I had a business.”

“I love the energy here! I love that I’m working with other creatives… I love the diversity.”

We love ya back Karen. We love ya back!
